Freecabinporn

It's not what you would think, but absolutely inspiring nonetheless. A fine fella known as "Two Shoes" left the freecabinporn.com link on my blog feed on Chop Cult (thanks for the heads up KB).

Testing the waters

Thinking long and hard about selling the FXE. Couple things would be switched out before the sale (kicker and air cleaner), but replaced with formidable parts.

Rake it!

SPCL'79 in Lowside Magazine no.7

Lowside magazine issue no.7. I opened this issue to have much of this past Summer's fun come back and hit me right smack in the face. I have to say, it's a nice reminder that riding season is right around the corner. Go order this issue from their site, but not because my bike is in it, buy it because this mag is always full of good photos, articles, and garage manipulated motorcycles.

Thanks go out to Tim, Debbie, and the rest of the Lowside crew for having enough of an interest in my '81 swingarm shovel to shoot it for the mag during this years Gypsy Run. Keep up the great work!

Mods on Phil's tank

Had to patch that big square hole left from removing the tunnel on this Cole Foster repop tank.... aaaand move the filler. The bones of the tank are done, just need to add all the other bits.

Dennis F's Triumph project

Dennis made his way to the shop from NJ last Monday to drop off his frame for some additions and subtractions.

some stuffs

Cleco E5 aircraft riveter, sheetmetal separation spoons, and a single countersink. One will power the new planishing hammer, one is something a sheetmetal fabricator should never be without, and hell... you know what a countersink does.

Are you kidding me?

Ordered some bits. They came in the mail. This is the size of the box these parts came in. It's amazing how some peoples brains work.

Another rough mocking

Got to the next step on the aluminum fairing for the ironhead project. Next will be deciding what shape this thing will really be taking, what will be added and what will be subtracted.

Stainless lowboys

I've been unhappy with my previous decision on handlebars on my ongoing ironhead build, so I decided to take a swing at something new. I have no idea how to classify these but I'll call them "lowboys" just to keep track of the design in my mind. I'm really happy with these, they're extremely comfy and I think they flow better with my vision of the bike's overall aesthetic. I'm going to make a couple set's of these to sell too.

New stuff...

... added to the store.

Fabrication stuff
-stainless handlebar straps, 3.5" on center with 1" holes on each end so you can use them as a support for your uprights or as uprights themselves.
-stainless handlebar uprights, 1" holes 4.5" on center with a center cut detail.
-1" coped mounts with 5/16" hole, mild steel (use for mounting anything you can dream up).
-battery boxes in stainless, 2 sizes. Un-bent or welded for you.

Bars
-moto bars in stainless 1" thick walled tubing.
