back to tank work

After a 3 day bout with the stomach flu, an exploding molar, super fun dental work, and finishing up some small fab jobs, I'm finally ready to bust out some tank work.  Robin, Oliver, Daniel, and Ros are in the tank lineup.  This coming week will prove to be much more productive.

old bars

These are the bars off my shovelhead.  I've decided to make a new set once I put her back together.  They work well for guys (or gals) running no front brake with a m/c, due to how narrow they are.  They are pre drilled for one of those cheapie push button horn/kill switch deals.  I cleaned 'em up pretty good, but they'll rust if you don't coat them with somethin'.  Anyone want them for $80 + shipping?  SOLD

new pc for the shovel

Got my frame back from being blasted and powder coated.  Looks like some nooks and crannies weren't cleaned well enough before it was shot with powder, but for what it cost me I won't complain too much.

Eric's bars

Just finished these for Eric this afternoon.

S3 400

Not only does my friend Terry stay busy building and refurbishing bikes, he evidently stays busy collecting Busch Light boxes.  His '75 S3 400 is looking mighty fine, can't wait to take that thing for a rip next time I'm in WA.

Display case

Here's a display I made a while back for Eastern Boarder.  I've got an identical case sitting in my shop that I've been procrastinating on forever.  I've got about 2 hours worth of work left on it and it can be delivered.  I can't even use the "snow in my driveway" excuse anymore... slacker.

Coming soon?

'75 H1 500 triple is going to get a going through this spring/summer, as soon as I finish the xs.

Lunch pics

Here's a couple pics of some bars I built this morning.  I'm not the first and definitely won't be the last to build some rabbit ears, but here's my take on them.  These bars are for sale if there's any interest.  Constructed from 1" .120 wall steel dom tubing, 3 1/2" mount spacing.

Damion's ironhead

Damion has been making a ton of progress on his ironhead as of late.  I really like the simplicity of this bike.

My wife rules

While I was working hard in WA snowboarding and skateboarding, my wife was having fun painting our bedroom and setting up a nice clean office space for me.  I still have quite a bit of art to hang, but at least I didn't have to paint.   She even let me have her Knoll desk.  You rule baby!

Brake arm

Welded up a brake arm/pedal for Herb today, he took the action photos.  I'll let him do the finesse work with his hammer and chisel.

Herb decided to scribble some teenage texting shorthand on my new tig gloves while I was welding some stuff for him.  I decided to add a bit of my own scribbling.

Save the banana

I have a friend that shall remain nameless, this is his Wassell banana tank.  This tank was brought to me with a shitty spray can paint job, a rather large dent with bondo jammed in it, and a tunnel area that looked like it was cut out with a hammer and chisel.  I'm doing my best to resurrect this tank from the grave.  It's unfortunate that my friend will probably spray bomb it when I'm done.

Bent Bike

A mix of salvage yard, used bikes, and tons of new parts.  Cool way to kill a couple hours in WA state.

Toecutter's place

During our WA trip, our crew visited our friend Terry Parker and his girl Vanessa for some pepperoni pizza and Busch lights.  Upon arrival to his Wenatche residence, it was brought to our attention that Vanessa wouldn't shake our hands when we were introduced.  In her defense it wasn't because she didn't want to shake our hands, it was because she couldn't.  Terry mistakingly cut the tip of her finger off in a door jamb incident.  The pictures I saw were gnarly.

Much of the time at Terry's was spent in his garage, checking out his shovelhead and Kawasaki S3400 projects.  He's got all sorts of cool stuff stashed everywhere, he's a complete whirlwind.  I need to spend more time there next trip and pick his brain more.  Shout out to TCP, Vanessa, and the four legged furies Ducati and Izzy.

Thanks Tim

Tim at Kwikwerks made me a handfull of these seat spring bungs.  They fit 1" .120 wall dom tubing so you can cut and cope a piece of tubing and weld them in for a custom set up.  A set of these will run you $25 plus shipping, or trade me something cool.  Thanks for the shirt Tim, I'll bounce one of mine your way.

first batch

First batch of shirts are done.  M, L, XL, and 2XL done right now.  Other sizes on the way.  $20 shipped in the US, all other destinations will be $15 plus shipping.  Shoot me an e-mail if you're interested @ roche.special.79@gmail.com

Woodland park

Smooth with perfect transitions.  My legs were so tired from snowboarding but I mustered enough energy to 50/50 the deep end of the pool bowl.  Thanks to Alexei Garick for shooting the photos to prove I still skateboard... a little.

Carnation, WA

Got to skate the Carnation park 15 minutes before it started raining, but we found this shop that had a bunch of cool shit in it.

snow shots

Fun riding, 20" of fresh on Thursday, sore legs and cartwheels.  Here's a couple pics of the day before the snow hit Stevens Pass.
