Spinning, once again

Spent some time making a set of 2" riser extensions. There really is no way to make these things quickly by hand, which means they can't be made to be profitable. Maybe I'm just really slow on the lathe.

rear leg work

The bends are in place, just need to do some finish welding. Wish I had the motor with me so I could line things up and mount the rear fender. Now I have to ask Darren what kind of tank he's thinking about.

slugs

Here's some video of the slugs I turned down for the rear transition under the stock forged motor mount to bottom frame rail area. Nothing groundbreaking, but this will have to do while I'm working on the final touches of the rear bends.

Ironhead hardtail part 2

Here's some clips I took a little while ago. This frame has been a learning process as it is the first ironhead I've made a hardtail for. It's tough to make the lower frame rails transition into the new rear section cleanly, but I think I figured it out. I'll have the finishing touches done by the end of the weekend.

Tube coping with paper templates

My drill press mounted coper/fishmouth fixture thingamajiggy can't cope a smaller angle than 45 degrees. There are a couple free online programs that will determine the cope profile you need with just punching in the tubing sizes, wall thickness, and cope angle. Calculate the profile, print it, wrap it, and notch. Tube notcher+ works great, just convert your inch measurements to mm.

Daniel's whip

Daniel just sent me a photo of his sporty after having his tins painted. I really dig getting photos of completed projects, I'm glad to have been able to help with the tank and bars.

Jack's new shovel

Jack sent me some pics of his new build with the tank I built for him on it. Fine job Jack, I'm jealous you can ride this time of year.
