Saturday surprise

I was planning on going to the Wachusset vs Auburn alumni hockey game that opened up for the varsity high school game which opened up for The Worcester Sharks vs. Providence Bruins game @ the DCU Center(I know, total run on sentence). My buddy Lex was coming to pick me up when we got the call that they needed more players so we grabbed our equipment and went to represent our H.S. alma mater. Pretty cool to play on such nice ice in such a big arena, and we won 4-1. I know, I'm such a jock sometimes.

Triumph lower rails

From this...

...to this

Not that big of a fabrication deal, I just couldn't stomach the bashed in front/lower rails. More shaving and mods to come!

It's amazing...

... how warm 43 degrees in the shop feels when it's 5 degrees out.

Just a pic...

... of a tank I did for Ben using the new tank bottoms. Cleans things up nicely.

Ness sporty find

I used to drive past this used furniture store all the time and have spied a bike amongst the rubble from my van whilst waiting at the traffic light. I always meant to go in and check it out but I never did... until today. Arlen Ness built 1975 sportster with a bunch of gold plating an engraving work. Pretty cool digger, and it's for sale too! $17,500 for a piece of chopper history!

FMA gas cap kit

I got this cap/bung sent to me along with a tank I'll be building for my friend Kim @ BCM/Bench*Mark. Really impressed with the quality of this FMA cap set, can't wait to weld it into the tank! You can buy these caps/ bungs from the fine fellas @ Lowbrow Customs.

a little more to smile about

Some may think I'm being trendy because I like building motorcycles and I'm posting a video clip of Jason Jessee. I can remember many a rainy day sitting around with friends watching all the skate videos we had on hand, praying the rain would stop long enough for the ramp to dry. In my opinion, there were no better videos than "Speed Freaks" and "Streets on Fire" by Santa Cruz skateboards. I worked in a shop for more than 10 years of my life and still felt like a nervous school girl when I would answer the phone and it would go like this.

Me- "Eastern Boarder"

Jason- "Yeah, is Tabor there?"

Me- "Yup, may I ask who's calling?"

Jason- "It's Jason @ Consolidated"

Me with a smile on my face-"Yeah, hold on a minute"

I know that story sounds so lame but what you have to understand is that at the moment that last phrase was being uttered on the phone by me, my mind was flashing back to all the video parts I studied for hours trying to figure out how to do frontside ollies on vert or trying to to get the guts to do a pivot to fakie after almost crapping my pants learning rock to fakies on vert. Jason was just another guy, I know, but these skaters were larger than life because of the role they played in our lives over the screen. That vision and feeling will follow me around for the rest of my life.

Alley oop madonna over the channel.

Andrect to fakie.

Perfect frontside ollie style.

Oh, and it's just a plus that he builds cool bikes.

Gots me thinking

I think about skateboarding way more than I skate nowadays (I know, that's sad) but I started thinking about the things in skating that I really love.

Now, every time I skate, I slam and hurt my wrist. That's a tough thing to deal with when you work with your hands everyday. I need to shut up and deal with it, pack the car, and go skate the vert ramp at Rye airfield.

On the way

So you can drink some frickin' beahs (beers) and go get a grindah (sub sandwich or the like) at Steve's Pizza, guy!

I wonder...

... how many sets of handlebars I'd have to sell to pay this machine off. Insane.

Bend some wire

I came across some really cool work/stuff checking out some of Frankie Flood's blogs today. This cnc wire bending video reminded me of how slow I work at times. I hate stuff that makes me feel lazy:)

Blog interview

Yeah, I know. Your saying "show me some pictures of metal and keep quiet". Well, I've built a couple tanks for my friend Robin and he asked me to do an interview for his blog. Wanna read what's up with dork like me, check out the interview on Fifty's Haze.
