Tail section

Here's some progress pics on the tail section of the XS.

I can remember waking up at 4am when I was a kid so I could watch "The Road Warrior"on my half-assed movie channel called "The Preview Channel".  I don't know if anybody else remembers this, but subscribers would get this box with one button on it that would de-scramble a UHF channel so you could watch movies that they would run.  This was so long ago it was before I knew anybody with a VCR.

Well, this post is for my friend Terry Parker.  He is a collector and fanatic of all that is Mad Max.  Copies of the movie scripts, original artwork, and even a replica of Toecutter's KZ.  Terry's a talented fabricator who builds some cool bikes.  I'll be fabbing a tank and bars for his next build, not because he can't, he just want's to build it with parts his friends have had a hand in.

So much fun

Some tank liner kits really suck.  This is what the liner of my friend Gregg's tank on his Benelli looks like.  It's a good thing he's one of my best friends, because this isn't fun in the least bit.

Whoops!

Picture bailing a chest high frontside air on a vert ramp, knee-sliding to the flat bottom and catching a screw with your hand on the way down.  That's not the way it happened, but it sounds way cooler than slipping and falling on your ass while walking your dog into your back yard to pee.  Nice way to wake up on a Sunday morning before the first sip of coffee.

Here's a couple more shots of Blair's tank with the tunnel and mounts finished.

Oh Canada

This one is for Blair's ironhead project.  He needed a mustang tank that was about 20" in length and 11" at it's widest point, so we started with a stock 4 gallon model.  After shifting the fuel bung over to allow for narrowing, this is how she looks.  Add a tunnel and mounts and it's off to our neighbors to the North.
