Because of the stud setup on this seat, I had to move the cross tube back a bit and weld a support plate/gusset to weld the lower spring spuds to. I probably could have made a bent cross tube to work with the springs but it couldhave been a gamble. I wanted to make sure I had sufficient room to mount the fender.
