Tannermatic

My friend Matt Tanner is a true character.  Anything that comes out of his mouth is guaranteed to be from the heart and completely bypass the filter between the brain and mouth (one of the things I always loved about him).  It was refreshing to see him again and remember how much fun he is to be around.  All personal characteristics aside, Matt is guru with fiberglass, carbon fiber, and vintage race faring work.  Looking forward to finally work with Matt on a upcoming future moto project.  Tannermatic!

Not glamorous

Most of the time fabrication isn't glamorous... but it's still fun.  Shorten a stock sportster axle in six steps.

Ironhead hydraulic clutch

I'm not the first to try this... or the last, but this is my shot at it.  I'm trying a brembo clutch slave cylinder off a Ducati and I'll spin up an adapter to mount the unit where the inspection/adjustment for the clutch is on the primary cover.  The knurled piece shown was done for mock-up to make sure this whole idea was feasible, the actual mount will be lathed out of that big chunk of aluminum so it will be big enough to pick up the clutch slave mounting points.  I'll know soon if it'll work, once the clutch lever/mastercylinder shows up.

SPCL'79 "welder guy" t-shirts in stock

Got some more "welder guy" t-shirts printed up today.  L, XL, and 2XL ready to go, discharge printed so the print area will soften up nicely after a couple washes.  You can purchase shirts here if you so desire.

This t-shirt is specifically being printed to help finance the journey out to Born Free 5 this coming summer.  I'm pretty damn exited to be involved in the Show Class People's Champ contest and although I feel really good about the ironhead I've put in the contest, the talent is deep and voting is really tight for the top 12 spots.  I've made up my mind to get myself and the bike out to the west coast no matter what the outcome of the contest is.  If my bike somehow ends up in the final 6, fantastic... if it doesn't, I'll be there supporting the builders that made it.  Good luck to all the builders involved and huge thanks to the good people at Show Class Mag, Mike D, Grant, and all the rest that make Born Free 5 possible.

Jock shit

Yeah, yeah, yeah... so I grew up playing hockey.  I catch shit from my motorcycle friends from time to time for being a "jock" because I grew up playing the greatest sport ever.  Where else can you glide, turn, exercise, and rough someone up if they get out of line... all in an hours time.

Got the chance to represent my high school alma mater in a alumni hockey game on Saturday at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA before the high school kids took the ice.  I think there were more people on the ice than in the arena for our game, go figure.
