Makin' miters

Tested the adjustable tube miter fixture in the Bridgeport. Seems to work the way it should but man I wish I had a cold saw.

You and me both. Stainless murders all my cutting tools. I'm keepin my end mill sharpening guy in business.

just get a dry cut saw, just as accurate as a cold saw and it holds up real well. and it's only around 299 if you get one from northern tool house brand. you might want a better angle finder than what they have on it but you're smart enough to build one.

Yeah, I have a dry cut but I find stainless dulls a $100 blade in a month or so. I do love it for thinner stuff and mild steel though.

At least around here there is a service that will resharpen the blades for around 30 bucks and they make house (shop) calls. The other thing that increased life span on my blades is letting the blade completely stop spinning before lifting it; almost doubled my blade life.

Hey 79, like the look of your work, very neat! Good to see you have moved into a new workshop, im trying to set my own shop currently across the pond here in the UK. Custom motorycles etc seem like a lifestyle out your way, over here its seems miniscule in comparison, but i guess its our shitty weather! Anyway keep up the good work!
