hot tig

It's time to get a chiller for my tig, the torch gets hot when I'm trying to crank orders out.

What type of welders do you have?
In the shop we have these miller dynasty 200's and I think I'm in love, but yeah they do get super hot if you spend too much time on them. No matter what brand you have, it shouldn't be too much.

I have a Synchrowave 200 but will probably be investing in another unit (Dynasty) sometime soon. My shopmate has a Dynasty 200, what a great welder that little box is.

I have a Miller SD 180 I added a water cooled torch and it made a huge difference. I could reduce the amps to get the same results. I can weld all day solid without the torch over heating. I got the cooler for free but spent 230.00 to rebuild the pump. The weld kraft torch was about 400.00. I don't know what the economical choice is, but water cooled is the way to go. That's for sure.

Yeah at the other shop we have a Sync 200, the size difference is amazing, and there is something about the inverter technology of the dynasty that makes it so you don't have to ball the tungsten to weld aluminum.
